Will Kirkpatrick with his signature "selfie picture" while plein air painting. Some argue that he may have even created the selfie—we will never know!

Will Kirkpatrick is an oil painter who has lived his entire life in the New England area. He was born and raised in Hudson, MA, where his personal studio is located. Along with having his personal studio, Will also has a shared studio that is open to the public at SOWA Boston on 450 Harrison Avenue.

In his "younger years" Will was a pharmacist. He owned a small pharmacy in Hudson, MA (now Hudson Art and Framing). Later following his love for carpentry, Will established Will Kirkpatrick Shorebirds–a successful decoy business that sold hand carved and painted wooden decoys all across America. After retiring from the decoy business, Will decided to take on oil painting as a full-time obligation.

Will's knowledge of art and painting is reflected through his years of studying with other fellow artists, taking various classes, and pushing himself to achieve more. Although his heart is with oil painting, Will dabbles in various mediums including, but not limited to watercolor, printing, and ink/pencil. Although his paintings are mostly medium size formats, Will works within various sizing formats ranging from a drink coaster to a large 2' by 3' scale.

Alongside his painting abilities, Will has a plethora of skills and hobbies–fishing, carpentry, and cooking (just to name a few).
