Will Kirkpatrick with his signature "selfie picture" while plein air painting. Some argue that he may have even created the selfie—we will never know!

Over the past twenty years, Will has produced, promoted and shown at numerous invitational open studios and open house events of his own and of fellow artists. He is also a fellow of the Oak Grove Painting Society, a confederation of outdoor painters who dedicate themselves to painting one area year round.

Will Kirkpatrick is a realist oil painter whose interests span landscape, still Life, seascape. marine, animals, floral, sporting, portrait and figure subjects. He maintains a working studio at his home in Hudson and regularly paints in his Boston studio at 450 Harrison Ave., in the SOWA district.

Will has taken courses at The School of the MFA in Boston, and has learned his craft studying with Boston Painter, Ed Stitt - ten years- and with Christopher Gorey - five years- who now shows at his own gallery and studio in Cape Breton. Will teaches painting at Post Road Art Center in Marlboro, Ma.

Will's first love is painting in oil, and in the past, and on occasion, he has found watercolor and intaglio printing to be more appropriate for projects at hand.

Will’s aim is to communicate his appreciation of people, places, things and moments, to those who share common sensibilities. His accumulation of years and varied experience accounts for the diverse subject matter of his paintings.
